Amor Amargo
About This Spot
Stepping into Amor Amargo feels like slipping into a warmly lit corner where the heart of Valencia beats a little slower, inviting you to unwind and savor the moment. Nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of L'Eixample, the restaurant carries an intimate yet lively energy that matches its careful balance between tradition and thoughtful innovation. The room hums with quiet conversations and the gentle clinking of glasses, creating a relaxed mood that encourages lingering over every bite and sip.
The pace here is unhurried, allowing each visit to blossom into a shared experience—whether you're visiting after a day exploring the city or simply retreating from the everyday. The design whispers of understated elegance, where every detail—from the decor to the lighting—feels intentionally chosen to foster connection and comfort without ceremony.
At Amor Amargo, the menu unfolds as a subtle journey through flavors that feel both familiar and intriguingly new. Dishes arrive as invitations, meant to be shared and savored slowly—each bite revealing a thoughtful harmony between traditional Valencian influences and contemporary touches. The vibrant freshness of the seafood, the playful textures, and the perfectly balanced bravas stand out, echoing the care and precision behind the kitchen’s craft. Pairing these delights with their house-made vermut or a well-chosen wine feels like part of a wider ritual, enhancing the ease and warmth that permeates the space.
This is a place where moments accumulate quietly—laughter, the sharing of something particularly satisfying, the calm pleasure of good service that never intrudes but always supports. Amor Amargo offers a genuine local rhythm, the kind of spot that stays with you not just for the food, but for the feeling of having found a place where everything feels thoughtfully alive.

We came here for dinner after doing an E bike tour of the city of Valencia. I have to say that we were not disappointed. The food was spectacular as well as that atmosphere. Our service was excellent as well

Great looking restaurant with awesome food. However, when sensitive to loudness the back of the restaurant is not recommended, but other than that definitely recommend

Very nicely decorated restaurant with great food, nice waiters. The portions to share were large, we ordered too much. Very fresh food, special combos that we hadn't tried before. Recommended.

The vibe of this place is something special with food that matches. They stay focused on the items that they offer. Out of all the Patata Bravas that I had in Spain, there's is hands down the best. The olive dip is an extra bonus. I came back for their octopus several times over my month stay in Valencia. Grilled to perfection.

Walk in with no reservation and was able to get an unreserved table for two. Kitchen only opens at 8:30 so we had a beer and glass of wine for the 40 min wait. Food and service was great. The Russian Salad (potatoes and tuna) was really tasty and the zucchini noddle salad the best.

Food was great (I had the octopus and the artichoke), the decor of the restaurant was really nice! Absolutely recommend if you are in Russafa.

Great place to enjoy dinner. The interior design of the place had character and the camarero and camarera were nice as well! We reserved in advance and got the table which was a bit elevated which we liked a lot! Would go back again.
